Clark Dobbs

Clark L. Dobbs, age 72, of Grey Cloud Island passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on 5 January, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Helen Jean, two children, Will Dobbs (Karen Arntzen) and Aimee Dobbs (Luis Puga), and his grand-daughter, Lucia Puga Dobbs.

Clark was born in Mankato, MN on 9 November, 1943 to Mary Evelyn and Willis Clark Dobbs. He is the youngest of four brothers (Herb [d. 2014], Bill, and Dave). He graduated from Mapleton High School in 1961, and Winona State University with a degree in biology in 1968. On July 16, 1966 he married his high school sweetheart, Jean, and they moved to the Twin Cities two years later. In July 1969, Clark and Jean had their son, William Howieson and in June 1973, their daughter, Aimee Rachel. For most of his career, Clark worked at H.B. Fuller Company as a material composites technician.

Over the years, he belonged to many organizations: he was an Eagle Scout, a member of the Cottage Grove Jaycees, a bagpiper in the Campmor Kilties and Brian Boru pipe bands as well as a member of the Minnesota Scottish Celtic Dance Association. He was an active apiarist, gardener, and ardent conversationalist. He also served as Grey Cloud Island's Telecommunications Officer. Clark's hobbies included tinkering with machines, bagpiping and Scottish culture, and driving the country roads of the Midwest.

His memorial service will be on Saturday, January 16 at KOK Funeral Home in Cottage Grove. Visitation starts at 10:30 and is followed by a service at 11:30 and luncheon.
