Clarice M. "Sissy" Stout, 85, of Cottage Grove, formerly of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, Minnesota following a short illness.
Clarice Stout was born March 11, 1921 in New Castle, Indiana, the daughter of Thomas Anthony and Anna Louise (Gilbert) Lucas. At an early age she moved with her family to Richmond were she received her education, graduating from O.P. Morton Senior High School in 1939. She was employed as an office assistant in the parts department for International Harvesterin Richmond. Clarice was united in marriage to Ralph K. Stout on January 17, 1942 in Richmond. The couple made their home in Madison, Indiana for a time before moving to Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2003 the couple moved to Cottage Grove to be closer to family. Sissy enjoyed sewing, knitting and music.
Clarice is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Ralph of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, her son, James R. (Gerda) Stout of Hanau, Germany, her daughter, Jane Rheault of Saint Paul Park, Minnesota, two grandchildren, Christian and Jeremy Rheault, two great-grandchildren, Naomi and Fletcher, her brother, Howard (Myrtle) Lucas of Adrian, Michigan and her sister, Shirley (Morris) Smith of Fountain City, Indiana.
Clarice was preceded in death by her brother, Robert.
