Clarence Wincentsen

January 2, 1937 — March 25, 2015

Clarence "Windy" Wincentsen passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2015 at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul.

Windy was born January 2nd, 1937 in Clintonville, WI. He graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1955. After graduating high school, he served in the U.S Army and was discharged in 1957. While in the military, he was united in marriage to Sally Pelinka and they shared 58 years together. He worked in the telephone industry until his retirement in 1997. While working and helping Sally raise 7 children, Windy worked very hard and attained an Associate Degree at Inver Hills Community College. He had many hobbies such as attending Vikings games, fishing, golfing, playing cards, and spending winters in Arizona. He also enjoyed coaching his sons' VFW and American Legion baseball teams. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents Irving and Frances; sisters, Zona and Kay; and brother, Wayne. Survived by wife of 58 years Sally; children Lisa (Ted) Dickey, Lori (Jeff) Hanson, Jon (Colleen), Tom (Kathy), Patrick (Lisa), Mark (Karyn), Dan (Robbyn); ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Donna (Milward) Simonson; sisters-in-law, Jean Ranney, and Teresa (Jim) Turner; as well as many extended family and friends.

Visitation 4-8 pm, Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove and resumes one hour prior to mass on Thursday at church. Mass of Christian Burial 11 am, Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th St. S., Cottage Grove. Interment to follow at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
