Saint Paul Park
Clarence W. Fischer Sr., 83 of Saint Paul Park, passed away on Wednesday evening, March 12, 2008 at United Hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota following a short illness.
Services were held Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Kok Funeral Home, 1201 Portland Avenue, Saint Paul Park with the Reverend Jules Erickson, of All Saints Lutheran Church officiating. There were military rites by the American Legion Richard Dingle Post #98.
Clarence W. Fischer, Sr. was born September 18, 1924 in Ellsworth, Wisconsin, the son Herman and Ruby (Genz) Fischer. He was united in marriage to Ethel D. Patnode on August 14, 1943. The couple has made their home in Saint Paul Park for many years. Clarence worked at Swift & Company for a number of years and later was a police officer for the City of Saint Paul Park. Most recently he had worked as a painter for the South Washington County School District retiring in the mid 1980?s. He was a sportsman and particularly enjoyed hunting and fishing, snowmobiling and traveling. Clarence was quick with a joke and loved to tell stories.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ethel, son, Clarence Fischer Jr., both of Saint Paul Park, two daughters; Anna (Scott) Werrbach of Cottage Grove, Minnesota and Linda Morgan of Frisco, Texas, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, his brother, Lawrence (Carol) Fischer of Prescott, Wisconsin and two sisters; Florence (Ted) Wroblewski of River Falls, Wisconsin and Norma (Ed) Swanson of Little Falls, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Lisk, two sisters; Marion & Caroline and an infant brother and sister.
