Charlie Dubbels

November 27, 1955 — March 27, 2017

Charlie D. Dubbels
"Nicest Guy in the World"
Loving dad, husband, brother, uncle & friend. Passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2017.
Charlie was born November 27, 1955 to Clarence & Esther (Belling) Dubbels in Farmington, Minnesota. He grew up on his family farm with his ten siblings. He graduated from Farmington High School and carried on his family tradition of farming. Charlie "retired" from his first career selling his farm and moving to Newport. He found his second career and niche in landscaping working with the state grounds crew. He took pride in keeping the memorials on the capital grounds looking top notch.
Charlie married his best friend and the love of his life Laurie Marlow in Las Vegas 29 years ago this month. He loved to travel to Vegas and the Black Hills, spend time gardening, he could fix just about anything, enjoyed cooking, baking, playing games with family and friends, had a love for all animals and was proud to grow plants taller than he was. He was one of those guys that gave anyone anywhere a moment of his time. This world will have a void without him, he will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by wife, Laurie; parents, Clarence & Esther; brother, Dick (Shirley). Survived by loving children, Ellen (Bryant), Josh, Jacqui; siblings, Kenn (Barb), Vern, Fred, Dave (Odessa), John (friend Beverly), Art (Jan), Kathy (Larry), Jenny, Liz (Pete); many other relatives and friends. Memorial gathering 1-4 Sunday, April 2 at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80th St. S. Cottage Grove) with a time of sharing at 4pm. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
