Charles A. McGraw, 93 of Saint Paul Park, died Monday morning, December 31, 2007 at the Regina Health Care Center in Hastings following a lengthy illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with the Reverend Greg Esty, officiating. Charles A. McGraw was born October 6, 1914 in Stewart, Minnesota the youngest of fourteen children to John and Mary (Klinkhammer) McGraw. He was raised on a farm near Stewart, graduated from Stewart High School and later attended Dunwoody Institute. He was united in marriage to Mary Catherine Gannon on September 1, 1941 in Minneapolis. He owned and operated McGraw?s Bakery in Minneapolis and later Owatonna for many years. In the early 1970?s the couple moved to St. Paul Park and he worked for various bakery?s in the area, including Fischer?s in Newport. He especially enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and traveling. He was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Catherine, three sons; John McGraw, Michael (Roxie) McGraw, Dr. Charles (Patti) McGraw, six daughters; Mollie (Tom) Detviler, Cathy, Peggy and Therese McGraw, Anne (Skip) Erickson, Suzie (Kevin) Nakagaki, 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons, Pat & Dan, 13 brothers and sisters and his granddaughter, Nettie.
