age 93 of Woodbury passed away surrounded by family on Monday morning May 18, 2009 at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury. Charles’s journey through life encompassed his dedication to faith, family, and friends.











He was preceded in death by his wife Theresa; sons Phil and Don; grandson Kelly; and his brother John.





Charles is the beloved father of Pat (Bob) Younger of Limon, CO, Michael (JoAnn) of Woodbury, Jim (Nita) of Lutz, FL, Elaine (Joel) Greer of Eagan, Janella (Chuck) Schroers of Eden Prairie, Tina (Jim) Berkhoel of Brooksville, FL, Pam (Tom) Carlson of Fountain Hills, AZ, Tom (Louise) of Afton, Grace (Mark) Alberg of Woodbury, Terry (Jane) of Soldotna, AL, Renee (Denny) Holz of Hastings; father-in-law of Ann Hinz of Fairmont, Pat Hinz of Woodbury; 58 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; brother of Beatrice Corcoran of Stillwater, Ray (Beatrice) of Osceola, WI, Evelyn Krenz of Osceola, WI; brother-in-law of Fran Hinz of Stillwater; many nieces and nephews.





Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Thursday May 21 at ST. RITA’S CATHOLIC CHURCH , 8694 80 TH St. S. Cottage Grove . Interment Cottage Grove Cemetery . Visitation 4-8 PM Wednesday and 9-10 AM Thursday at church.





Charles Francis Hinz was born November 17, 19 15 in Emerald, Wisconsin the son of Anton & Emily (Thorvold) Hinz. He was raised in Osceola. On June 24, 19 35 Charles was united in marriage with Theresa Neumann. He had 42 years of service as a supervisor with Armour & Co. Charles loved farming and gardening. Some of his greatest pleasures were tilling the soil and tinkering with his tractor. He also enjoyed singing, dancing, playing cards, golfing, fishing, and traveling. He was devoted to his Catholic faith and was instrumental in the building of several churches including St. Pascal’s Baylon, Transfiguration, St. Thomas Aquinas, and St. Rita’s.
