Charise Ashing

Charise Asuncion Ashing, age 46 of Cottage Grove, passed away on Nov. 26, 2015 surrounded by her family at Region's Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Visitation will be 2-7 pm, with a service at 4 pm on Sat., Nov. 28, 2015 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 – 80th Street S. Cottage Grove. Memorials are preferred.

Charise was born May 21, 1969 in Quezon City, Philippines to Crispin and Cora Asuncion. The family moved to the United States in 1972 and resided in Cottage Grove where Charise graduated from high school in 1987. She was a clerk typist with the St. Paul Fire Department for several years. Charise later worked at the Emerald Queen Casino in Puyallup, Washington where her two loving sons were born. She moved back to Minnesota in 2010 and has enjoyed the past year as a grandma to her little Carmelo. Charise loved shopping and spending time with her sons and grandson. She had a fun-loving personality who put others first and enjoyed bringing people together. Her family was precious to her and they all brought great meaning to her life.

She is survived by her sons, John and Christopher; grandchild Carmelo; parents, Cris and Cora; sisters, Corinne (Chris) and Crystal (Dan); nephews, Anthony, Cody and Damon; nieces, Kali Jo and Grace.
