Cathy Lynn Whitmore

Cathy Lynn Whitmore, age 63, of Cottage Grove, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her home, while peacefully asleep on Friday, July 7, 2023.

She was the ultimate supporter, comforter, caretaker and listener for all of us. She always knew exactly what to do and say. She loved so many things - traveling to all the best places, like London, Italy, Switzerland, Puerto Rico, Vegas, Puerto Vallarta, Dominican Republic, New England via a bus, California, New York City, and the latest baby-toddler hot spot in Hoboken, New Jersey; also camping for relaxation and peace; reading novel after novel on her kindle; going to movies and out to lunch; the apple orchard to make the best apple crisp; Friday date nights; going to the zoo with family; nice coffee and good food. But most of all she loved her family unconditionally. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother (better known as Brama to Ollie and Bahmee to Isla) and friend anyone could ever wish for.  She’s our everything. We love her so much.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Barry; children, Jamie (Dan), Brittany (Jeff), and Hayley (Zac); grandchildren, Sophia, Oliver, Isla, Maxwell, and Kye; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Grace; and sister, Sharon.

A memorial service will be held at 12pm, on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Kok Funeral Home (7676 80^th Street S. Cottage Grove, MN) with visitation beginning at 10am. A luncheon will be held at 1pm on Monday, July 17 at The Saint Paul Park American Legion (328 Broadway Ave, Saint Paul Park, MN).
