Catherine "Katie" Bjork

Catherine "Katie" Bjork, age 91, of Newport, our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother was called home to her Heavenly Father on December 28, 2023.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday, January 19, 2024 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S; Cottage Grove, MN. Funeral Service at 11:00 am Saturday, January 20, 2024 also at Kok Funeral Home with one hour visitation prior to service. A luncheon will be held following service. Interment at Newport Cemetery.

Katie worked at Armours for 29 years and EcoWater for 15 years.  She was a member of the Park Port Lioness for 44 years and the St. Paul Park Newport Lions for 2 years. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Dean Bjork; parents, Andrew and Gizella Rowan; brothers, Francis, Joseph, Thomas, Stanley and Gervais "Butch".

Katie will be missed by her daughters, Cheryl Olson and Bonnie Bjork; granddaughters, Lynda (Dino) Crandall and Dawn (Ray) Blechinger; great-grandchildren, Noah Acree and Nevaeh Crandall; special friends, Nancy Flandrick and JoKay Huesmann; many more friends, nieces and nephews; and especially her "Furever" Friend, Lexie Lou.
