Carol Sanz

Carol Amelia Sanz, age 77 of Newport MN, passed away peacefully from this life at home surrounded with the love of her family, on Friday, June 25, 2021.

Carol was a kind, loving and selfless soul who will be most remembered for her love and passion for spending time with family laughing, watching the grandkids,  going to the State Fair yearly with her sisters, weekend bowling trips, her garden, crafting, and of course Elvis. Many will remember her unique fondness and love for everything lights!  Christmas (especially her village), neon, fiber optic and LED lights, candles etc. Literally everything lights. And Finally, Last but not least, her devotion and pride for the Green Bay Packers will not be easily forgotten. On Sundays she could be heard yelling at the TV, “Break his legs”! Her love, humor and sarcasm was enduring to us all and will be missed dearly by many.

Carol was an adored Wife, cherished Mom, and loved Grandma. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her loving husband Gene, daughters, Christina Sanz (Chad), Terrie Tornio (Mark), Erica Johnson (Terry) stepson Greg Sanz, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and many nieces, nephews, cousins and her fur baby CoCo ( Ruby)

She is Preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ranghild Paugel, and 2 brothers.

Funeral Visitation, 10:00 a.m. with the service at 11:00 a.m. and Lunch at 12:00, Saturday, July 24th at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S , Cottage Grove, MN 55016.
