Carol Rumple

Carol Ann Rose (nee Weingartner) Rumple, age 72 of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

Carol will be remembered as “The Queen of Newport”. She was loved by all her patrons at the bank and treated them like they were her own family. She was always there for people who needed her and loved with her whole heart. She could find the Silver Lining in every situation. Carol enjoyed knitting, loved Facebook and the Hallmark Channel, was an avid reader, and even though she did not want to admit it, she loved dogs. Shoes, jewelry, and purses were her passion; she loved to shop.

Carol and Mike would be married for 52 years on May 2, 2022. She is the Matriarch of their family.

Carol is survived by her husband, Mike; children, Kelly Doke, Stacy (Joel) Howlett, and Mark; grandchildren, Cole Doke, and Katelyn Howlett; brothers, Don Weingartner, and Richard (Cheri) Weingartner; sister-in-law, Joyce Weingartner; and many other loving friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Audrey Weingartner; and brother Ken Weingartner.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Kok funeral Home (7676 80th Street South Cottage grove, MN) at 3pm. Visitation will begin at 1pm. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital .   A celebration of life will be held in June of 2022 to further honor Carol's life and legacy.  Details of that celebration will be announced at a later date.
