Carol A. Helgeson

Carol A. Helgeson, 80, of Starbuck, formerly of Cottage Grove, died peacefully at her home on Friday, May 19^th, 2023.

Carol will be missed by her loving husband, Merrell Helgeson; daughters, Debora (Robert) Schwiesow, Barbara (Tim) Cherry, Dana (Jesse) Carlson, Christi (Scott) Dickmeyer, and Whitney Tupper; grandchildren, Justine, Brittney, Megan, McKayla, Isaiah, and Jordan; great-grandchildren; brother, Anthony Jensen; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arndt and Josephine Jensen, and sister-in-law, Patricia Jensen.

Carol worked as a jeweler for most of her life and obtained her GIA Certification.  She enjoyed doing crafts in her free time; from cross-stitching, gardening, to creating beautiful keepsakes. Carol could often be found on the lake catching fish with Merrell.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 1^st at 12pm with a visitation 11-12 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 8694 80^th St. S, Cottage Grove.

Burial to follow at Sunset Cemetery in Minneapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
