Brenda Forbes

Brenda Corrine Forbes, age 73, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, passed away on October 3, 2021, with family by her side.

Brenda was born on January 8, 1948, in Brainerd, Minnesota, to parents, Harriet (Palmquist) and Clifford Dahl. She graduated in 1966 from Ashland High School in Ashland, Wisconsin.

On September 6, 1969, Brenda was united in marriage to Jack Forbes. The couple lived in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Florida, before settling in Wisconsin again for what would be Jack’s final years. Brenda then moved to Cottage Grove, Minnesota to be closer to her family.

Brenda spent many years working as a nurse and running an at-home daycare.  Health factors contributed to her early retirement.

Brenda enjoyed producing artistic creations, such as sewing and painting, and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and her furry companion, Ruby.

Preceding Brenda in death are her parents and husband.

Brenda is survived by son, Andrew “Andy” Forbes, his wife, Melissa and their children, Annika and Malin; daughter, Wendy Forbes; foster children, Ho Neang and her children, Tanya, Alan, and Dana, and their families and Chea Sok; siblings, Margo (Don) Beckett and Bruce (Debbie) Dahl; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, family members and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, Minnesota, 55016.
