Betty Ullman

June 26, 1935 — October 29, 2016

Jo Ullman, age 81 of Bloomington, formerly of Cottage Grove, passed away October 29, 2016.

A memorial service honoring her and her daughter Jackie will be 3 pm Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 -80th St. S, Cottage Grove with visitation starting at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Betty "Jo" Joan Ullman was born June 26, 1935 in Hutchinson, Minnesota to C. Ned and Emma (Hagele) Bitzer. She graduated from Maplewood Academy in Hutchinson in 1953 and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to pursue her education and also met the love of her life, Francis Ullman. After Francis completed his military service, they were united in marriage on August 13, 1955. They lived in Pennsylvania for a short time before settling in Cottage Grove where they raised their children.

Jo enjoyed fishing, quilting, crocheting, baking, reading, bowling, puzzles and watching her hummingbirds. She enjoyed supporting her children in their various sports and interests through the years. Jo worked at the 3M Company for a number of years serving in their promotional services department. Jo and Francis moved to Minong, Wisconsin where they did a lot of fishing and enjoyed many years together.

Jo is survived by her husband of 61 years, Francis; children Shelley (Mike) LaDue, Jackie (who passed away unexpectedly the following day) and significant other Mark Redner, Scott (Lisa) and Tony; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister Bobbi Moose as well as nieces nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, C. Ned and Emma Bitzer and son Terry.
