Bernie Poganski

Bernie Poganski, age 79, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2016.

Bernadine was born September 20, 1936 in St. Martin, MN, the daughter of Walter and Eliza (nee Brown) Determan. She was raised in St. Martin and graduated from Paynesville High School in 1954. On August 24, 1957 she was united in marriage with Louis Poganski at the St. Cloud Cathedral. She was a school bus driver with the South Washington County Schools and retired after 30 years. Bernie enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, swimming, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Cottage Grove Jaycees and Cottage Grove Lions. She made and donated over a 1000 baby blankets and quilts among other homemade items to the Salvation Army and other local charities.

Preceded in death by husband, Louis; and parents. Loving mother of Louis (Julie), Daniel, William (Grace), James (Sherry), Joel (Jannet), Gerard (I Jin), Stephan (Doralie), Michael; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandsons; six brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM, Friday, April 1, 2016 at The Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th St. S., Cottage Grove, MN, 55016. Private family interment at Cottage Grove Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
