Bernice D. “Bea” Lindeman 88, of Cottage Grove, died peacefully on Jan. 11, 2018. Bernice was born on June 14, 1929 in Cumberland, Wisconsin to Reynold & Florence (Cass) Huehn. She grew up on her family farm in Cumberland. She was united in marriage to Elmer Lindeman on May 21, 1949 in Pine City, MN. They lived in the Lake Elmo area for several years and then in 1959 they purchased a home in Cottage Grove and raised their family there. Elmer and Bernice were caretakers at an apartment complex on the East side of St. Paul for 10 years and soon after they retired and spend most of their time in Balsam Lake, WI. Bea enjoyed family camping trips in Cumberland, embroidering, playing cards, fishing, traveling; especially to the mountains and flea market shopping with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by husband, Elmer; daughter, Deborah; numerous siblings. Survived by loving children, Joanne (Lloyd) Heuer, Bev (Steve) LeMay, Kathy (Dave) DeWitt, Cindy (Dann) Gearhart, Dan (Merrily); grandchildren, Jason (Tonia), Tracy (Scott), Chris (Scott), Steven, Amanda, Christopher, Laura, Dan, Scott, and Tyler; 9 great grandchildren; many other family & friends. Funeral service 11 AM Monday, Jan. 15 at Rose of Sharon Lutheran Church (6875 Jamaica Ave. S. Cottage Grove) with visitation starting at 10 AM. Interment Union Cemetery, Maplewood, MN.
