Bernard "Bernie" Kreitz
75 of St. Paul Park, died peacefully surrounded by family April 27, 2016. Bernie was born on February 1, 1941 in St. Paul to Michael J. & Ernestine (Perron) Kreitz. He grew up in Mendota Heights and graduated from Sibley High School in 1959. After high school Bernie attended St. Thomas for 2 years and then enlisted in the Navy. He married Diane Beebe March 3, 1972. They raised their two children in South St. Paul and in 1992 moved to Dallas/Fort Worth where they spent several years and returned in Minnesota in 2006. Bernie retired from Burlington Northern that same year and made his home in St. Paul Park. He enjoyed spending his free time bowling, reading Tom Clancy and Military books, traveling to see his family. Bernie is preceded in death by wife Diane. Survived by loving children Lynn (Ron) Townsend, Jason (Ginger); grandchildren Matthew, Breanna, Olivia, Owen; brothers William (Merry), Mick; brothers-in-law and sisters-in law Bruce (Sandy) Heidenreich, Kathy (Dick)Walters, Julie Beebe; other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Friday 4/29 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (920 Holly Ave. St. Paul Park) with a visitation starting at 9:30am. Interment General Lutheran Cemetery, South St. Paul, MN. Memorials preferred to The Crohn's and colitis Foundation
