Barbara J. Seefeldt (nee Meador), age 86, of St. Paul Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
Barbara J. Meador was born on November 5, 1936 to Richard (Glenn) and Helen Meador who were residents of Inver Grove Heights Minnesota. Barbara lived in Inver Grove Heights as a child and then moved with her parents to St. Paul Park. Barb called St Paul Park home for more than 70 years.
Barb married Douglas Seefeldt in February 1957. They had three children, and for many years Barb was a young mother and homemaker who focused on making her family a priority. As the children grew older, Barb entered the workforce, most notably as an administrative assistant at Crawford & Company. When her husband passed away in 2011, Barb continued to live her life to the fullest. She nurtured longtime friendships and developed several new ones that led to non-stop adventures continuing right up until the end of her life. She thought of her friends as family and spent many hours laughing, drinking coffee, traveling, and experiencing many great adventures not only at home, but also in some of her favorite places including the North Shore of Lake Superior, South Dakota, and even Las Vegas. She was loved by all for her strength, positivity, courage, sense of humor, and zest for life. As her health started to wane, Barb moved out of her long-time home and found a new home in New Perspectives Senior Living in Woodbury. Although the move was initially difficult, Barb’s positivity and zest for life continued, as did her adventures. Barb was a wonderful mother, grandmother, friend, and person. The success she had in living her life to its fullest serves as a wonderful model for her family and friends alike.
Barb will be missed by her surviving children Rik (Kate Arbon) Seefeldt, Lynda (Roland) Bradley, and Lori Campbell. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren (Corey, Anders, TJ, Chatava, Benjamin and Chandralysa); 2 great-grandchildren (Tiana and Jaylen); her extended family, and great friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her infant son, Michael.
