She was born on April 6, 1930 on the family farm near Lake City, the oldest of seven children. Grade school center and high school in Lake City, graduated in 1948. She went to work in St. Paul doing office work at an insurance company. Married Ramon Howard Peterson on March 15, 1952. In 1960, they moved their family to Cottage Grove and she started working as a school bus driver in 1973. She enjoyed driving bus for 24 years.
Barbara enjoyed spending time at the lake home, fishing on the lake, and playing cards and bingo.
She is survived by her children, Kevin (Lucille) of Bemidji, MN; daughters, Kay Arndt of Cottage Grove, MN, and Kristi (Scott) Moriarty of Evergreen, CO; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; and siblings, Gerald Reincke, Mary Rademacher, Judy Gall, Karen Reincke, and Kathleen Wagner. Preceded in death by husband, Ramon "Ray"; parents, Alvin and Annamay Reincke; brother, George Reincke; and daughter-in-law, Georgina.
Funeral Service 11 AM with visitation beginning at 9 AM, Friday, June 14, 2024 at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 1000 Portland Ave., St. Paul Park, MN 55071. Interment to follow at Cottage Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove, MN.
