Arlene M. Perna, 65, of St. Paul Park, died Thursday, January 31, 2008, at the Regina Nursing Care Center in Hastings following a lengthy illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2008 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Saint Paul park, with the Reverend Martin L. Schwartz, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Maplewood. Kok Funeral Home of St. Paul Park is in charge of the arrangements. www.kokfuneral.com
Arlene M. Perna was born September 5, 1942, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Leo M. and Elsie M. (Hoppe) Weiss. She graduated from Humboldt High School . She was employed at Pearson Candy for many years. She was united in marriage to Sam Perna on June 5, 1973, the couple made their home in St. Paul Park where she worked at Cub Foods and was a cook for the South Washington County Schools for many years until retiring in 2004. She especially enjoyed her family and grandchildren, country and polka music.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Sam, children; David, Kevin, Rick, Holly (Pat) Philips, Lois Crawley, step-son, Scott Perna, four grandchildren, adopted sister, Shirley Bodsberg, and friends, Vicki Bias & Dan Erlandson, She was preceded in death by her brother, Leo. Special thanks to Augustana & Hospice care staffs.
