Argene Adele Whalen, of Saint Paul, passed away November 3, 2020 of cancer.  Born May 9, 1943 to Theodore and Elsie Torma in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  She was a proud UPer even after relocating to Minnesota, Maryland and back to Minnesota.  She was a teacher for more than 30 years in the North St Paul School District.  Argene had a sense of duty and a strong conviction to see things completed, so much that she was determined to make sure her vote was counted in this year's election, and it was.  She was a homemaker, an artist and a perpetual gatherer of information.  She was a philanthropist, a world traveler, a gardener and a determined soul who was not always easily understood by others. She was a force and she was a delight. She was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, an aunt, and a dear friend. Argene was, and always will be, a beloved child of God and greatly missed by those she left behind.

Preceded in death by her husband, William Whalen, son, William Jr. Survived by her daughter, Mary-Jeanine Whalen, daughter-in-law, Sandi Whalen, grandson, Alex Mickelson, granddaughter, Adele Whalen, great granddaughter, Alice and many extended family.

Services will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 8260 4th St. N., Oakdale, MN. Due to the global pandemic we need to limit the number of attendees, please RSVP to: https://signup.com/go/EjDVoMP   Masks and social distancing will be required.
