Annette Marie Mullen

Annette "Nettie" Mullen, age 81, of Cottage Grove, MN passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 15, 2024.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Kok Funeral Home - 7676 80th Street S. Cottage Grove, MN with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. All are invited to a luncheon to follow the service.

Annette was born on August 4, 1943 to Clarence and Eileen Bebeau. She grew up in Champlin, MN and attended school in Anoka. Soon after graduation, she met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Mullen; they were married on May 4, 1963. In 1973, they built a house in Cottage Grove to raise their family—a beautiful house that became their lifelong home.

With her love for gardening, it was no surprise that Annette worked at Bailey Nurseries in Newport for over 30 years. For her, it was never just a job—she truly loved what she did and the friendships she made there. Her passion for flowers and plants led her to become a Master Gardener, a role she embraced wholeheartedly. Annette enjoyed volunteering her time, sharing her expertise, and even hosting garden tours at her home to inspire and delight others with her beautiful outdoor spaces.

Annette also loved to travel and explore, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Annette will be remembered for her sweet and friendly nature, her unwavering generosity, and the love she shared so freely with everyone around her.

Annette is survived by her husband of 61 years Richard "Dick" Mullen; children Patty (Roger) Gartner and Mike (Amy) Mullen; grandchildren Samantha (Kegan) Scherping, Zach Gartner, Alex Mullen, and Bella Mullen; great-grandchildren Aubrey Scherping and Everett Scherping; and brother Lyle (Bette) Bebeau as well as many other relatives and close friends.

Annette is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Eileen Bebeau.
