Anne Clark Lott, 80, of Cottage Grove, MN, passed away peacefully on November 10th, with family by her side. She was born to the late Doris and Fred Clark, on January 19th, 1942, in Visalia, CA. Anne grew up on the Riley family ranch in Corcoran, CA. She graduated from Corcoran High School in 1959, and attended the University of Southern California. Newly married, she moved to Chicago just in time to enjoy the Blizzard of ’67. Despite the wintry start, she and her husband rooted and raised their family in Oak Brook, IL.
She was the loving mother of Bob (Anne Robinson) Lott, Steve (Ruth) Lott, Betsy (Keith Chval) Roca, and Jason (Lorri) Lott. While her kids enjoyed an unending game of “Who’s Mom’s Favorite Child”, all knew that her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren: Riley, Kate, Alex, Evan, Luke, Joel, Tallulah, and her great grandchild, Liam. She is also survived by her lifelong friend and ex-husband, Ken Lott. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Stephen Clark.
Anne had a nomad’s heart and over the course of her life called California, Illinois, Montana, Oklahoma, and Minnesota home; with cherished friends in each and every place. In addition to calling many places home, she embraced her wanderlust through extensive travel, with New Zealand’s Milford Track being her favorite adventure.
Anne was a loving and faithful servant of God, walking with Him through all of her journeys. Her time spent at New Hope Indian United Methodist Church in Dewey, OK, was particularly meaningful and she appreciated the enduring friendships she made there. When asked recently for her best life advice, Anne responded, without hesitation, “Pray like hell.”
The family will be holding a private ceremony. Charitable donations in memory of Anne made to New Hope Indian United Methodist Church, would be appreciated. Their address is P.O. Box 503, Dewey, OK 74029.
