Ann Sarro, age 74 of Cottage Grove, passed away February 21, 2020.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Thursday, March 5, 2020 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 408 3rd Street N., South St. Paul with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be in the Cottage Grove Cemetery. In lieu flowers, memorials are preferred.
Ann Marie Sarro was born April 18, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY to Vincent and Angelina Davide. She grew up in Brooklyn and moved to Minnesota with her family in 1971. They opened up Sal’s Pizza in Cottage Grove which they operated until 1989. The next 10 years, she dedicated her heart and soul to the children at DCI but delighted the most in her grandchildren and was blessed to be able to be a “second mom” to them. She was a gifted cook and wasn’t afraid to let everyone know that she was in charge of the kitchen and menu. As health challenges set in, the highlights of her day included praying the Rosary, her daytime game shows and “buying out” QVC. Her greatest joy was spoiling her great-grandchildren with love.
She is preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law Rosann and Mark Egan; sister Margaret May. She is survived by her grandchildren Matthew (Elizabeth) Egan, Jessica (Anthony) Casalenda, Erica Egan, Andrea Egan, Alicia (Zachary) Elliott, Cassandra (Matthew) Dvorak, Tara Egan and Leah Egan; 21 great-grandchildren and sister Judy Anello.
