Angela Carlton, age 59 of St. Paul, passed away July 8, 2020 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Angela was born September 13, 1960 in St. Paul to Howard “Jim” and Gloria Carty.  She grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Harding High School.  On September 16, 1978, Angela was united in marriage to Gary Carlton and they resided in St. Paul and regions of Wisconsin before returning to St. Paul in 1990.

Angela became a “mom” to many while providing home daycare during those years.  She was a Phil Collins fan and also enjoyed woodworking, painting, gardening and doing various landscaping projects at home.  She had a tender spot for animals, but mostly she adored her beloved grandchildren.

She was employed at the Target Distribution Center in Woodbury for the past several years where she established friendships with many of those that she worked with.

She is survived by children, Melanie (Eric) Oakland, Adam (Christi) Carlton, Leslie Welliver, Gary Carlton, Samantha (Jeff Schrader) Carlton and Racheal (Billy) Dennis; grandchildren, Kirsten, Devin, Emily, Elicia, Caleb, Carson, Hayden, Lucas, Callie, Cameron, Billy Jr., Hannah and Lane; siblings, Geno (Mary) Carty, Pam (Don) Gray, Geri Carty, Holly (Brian) Brown, Jimmy (Anita) Carty as well as extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by husband Gary and parents.

A memorial visitation will be 4-7 pm, Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th Street S., Cottage Grove.  There will be a privately attended family service available by live stream at 3:00 pm. There will be a celebration of life dinner at a later date in honor of Angela.

​While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to accommodate gatherings while abiding to a 50% capacity at the facility. The use of face masks by attendees is recommended, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep your families safe.
