Alvin Sather

Age 88 of Cottage Grove on April 30, 2013.

Alvin Wallace Sather was born November 12, 1924 in Cashel Township, Minnesota the son of Selmer & Leone(Goff). He was raised in Benson and graduated from Benson High School. On May 3, 1945 he was united in marriage with Marlys Nadine Hoffman in Fairfield Township. Alvin served in the United States Army as a sergeant with the occupation forces in Japan. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, puzzles, watching baseball, reading and painting.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marlys; son David, brother Lowell.

Alvin is the beloved father of Keith (Sandy), Wayne (Barbara), Wanda (Walter), Steven (Pernell), Deanne (Frank), Kristi (David); 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren ; sisters Bev (Allan), Marlys (Dave), Shirley (Ben); many nieces & nephews.
