Allan Edward Carlson, age 65, of Pine City, formerly of Cottage Grove, passed away on November 9, surrounded by family, after a valiant battle with a rare kidney cancer.
Al had a life-long passion with fishing, sports, and model trains, and enjoyed sharing his love of his hobbies with his family and friends. He spent his career as a commercial electronic securities installer and site surveyor in the Twin Cities area where he was born and raised. Al was a loving, kind, and peaceful spirit, whose number one priority was his wife and two sons, and was known for never missing a life-event of family, no matter how far the travels. Al was loved by everyone he touched. Heaven now has another angel.
Al was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Virginia. He is survived by Linda, his loving wife of 37 years; sons, Adam of Cottage Grove and Aaron (Angela) of Woodbury with grandchild Micaiah; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Steve and Susan Amundson of Hastings, nephews Korey (Amanda) and Thad Amundson, niece Tanya (John) Slavsky, and grand-niece and nephews, Sophia, Grant, and Chase.
A memorial service will be held at Crossroads Church in Woodbury on Fri, 14 Nov at 11am with visitation one hour prior. Memorials are preferred to the Director's Research Fund "Masonic Cancer Center" University of Minnesota.
