Alice Stearns)

Alice J. Dettmann (nee Stearns), age 70, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota.

Alice was born in Clintonville, WI on January 31, 1946 to M.A. "Tom" and Dorotha Stearns. She died in Hastings, MN on December 30, 2016. Her family moved to Minnesota soon after her birth and Alice lived in Detroit Lakes, Bemidji, North Mankato and Bloomington while growing up. She graduated from Bloomington High School in 1964. She then lived and worked in Minneapolis until she built a home in Cottage Grove, where she lived the rest of her life. Alice loved anything four-footed and rescued many animals during her lifetime. She had a keen sense of humor and a love for puns. She worked hard at her various jobs and always knew ways to do it better and faster. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, shop for antiques, ride motorcycles and have lunch with and spend time with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Russell. She is survived by her son, Keith; her granddaughter, Maureen; her sister, Susan; her favorite cousins, Mary and Jeff; good friends, Liz, Mary, Larry, Joyce, Kathy, and Jacque; and her beloved dog, Holly.
