Died Saturday evening August 11, 2012 at United Hospital In St. Paul.
Alfred Joseph Sobaski was born April 4, 1923 in South St. Paul, Minnesota the son of Joseph & Marie (Hallenmak) Sobaski. He was raised in South St. paul and graduated from South St. paul High School in 1941. In 1941 he married Jeanne, who died in 1990. In 1992 he married Doris. Al served in the United States Army during WWII, and served in the Bougainville Campaign. He enjoyed sports, especially hockey and the Minnesota Twins.
He is the beloved husband of Doris; loving father of Jim (Marlys), John, Linda Bickerstaff; stepfather of Dwane "Butch" (Darlene) Berens, Kathryn (Dale) Malm, Carolyn (Greg) Spencer; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren.
Al was preceded in death by his first wife Jeanne; parents Bill & Marie Waldhauser; grandson Anthony; brother Bill; sisters Alice & Audrey.
Visitation 4-8 PM Thursday at KOK FUNERAL HOME, 1201 Portland Ave, St. Paul Park and 10-11 AM Friday at church. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday at ST. RITA'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 8694 80th St. S. Cottage Grove. Burial St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
