Alex Brietkrietz

Alex Brietkrietz, of Cottage Grove, November 8, 1928-October 6, 2022, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

He was a lifelong member of VFW Post 8752 in Cottage Grove.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Mary; brothers, Henry, Victor, Edward, and Leo; sister, Marie; four brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law.

Alex will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Rose Mary; children, John (Coco), Marie (Ed) Sumstine, Jim (Lucy), and Betty (Duane) Miller; grandchildren, Joseph (Valarie), Alyssa, Rachel (Aaron), and Karl; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Makayla, and Eliah; sisters-in-law, Mary Koehler, Irene Getz, and Thelma Fastner; nieces; nephews; and other family and friends.

Evening Visitation will be Thursday, October 13 from 4-7 PM. Funeral Service will be Friday, October 14 at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior, all at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S, Cottage Grove, MN. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
