Agnes F. Thunstrom, 75, of Saint Paul Park, died Monday morning, January 30, 2006, at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury following a brief illness.
Agnes F. Thunstrom was born August 26, 1930 in Lakota, Iowa, the daughter of Lee Henry and Regina J. (Diers) Olson. She was raised on the farm and graduated from Lakota High School where she excelled in basketball and was instrumental in having the Lakota team, compete in the Iowa High Schools Girls State Basketball Tournament. She married Merril Thompson in 1951. The couple later divorced. Agnes moved to the Saint Paul Park area in 1962 and has made her home here since that time. She was united in marriage to William Thunstrom in 1977. She had been employed as a waitress for Tinucci?s in Newport until retiring in 1994 following 19 years of service. She enjoyed socializing whether at Perkins or the casino and she especially enjoyed her family.
She is survived by her children; Jim and his wife, Bonnie Thompson of Franklin, Tennessee, Terry Thompson and his fiancAsh, Kelly O'Donnell of Cottage Grove, Perry Thompson of Altoona, Wisconsin, Kathy and her husband, Peter Dohmen of Randolph, Minnesota, Lynn and her husband, Jim Lutton and Sharon Thompson- Smith and her husband, Eric Smith all of Newport, 14 grandchildren; Lauren, Ashley, Alison, Eric, Jill, Sarah, Alisa, Jessica, Samantha, Emily, Matthew, Kyle, Nicole and Christian, 7 great-grandchildren; Julia, Cody, Madelyn, Benjamin,Desten, Noah and Ethan, her siblings; John, Richard, Donny, Vicki, Lavonne, Donna, Florence, Betty. Her loving companion, Les Crosby of Saint Paul Park, his children: Shelly and her husband, Frank Oneg, Cynthia and her husband, Dennis Diesenroth, Teresa and her husband, Gene Madag, Marty and his wife, Shelly Crosby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William, two brothers, Eugene and Bud and three sisters, Bernice, Mary Lou and Doris.
