James "Jimmy" Arndt

James Arndt, 67, Newport, MN.

Jimmy passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2021.

He was born in St. Paul to Fred and Joan Arndt on April 26th, 1954. He spent much of his life in that area and in Hastings before moving to Newport, MN, where he lived out his dream of living on the river. He loved fishing, agate hunting, hockey and rock and roll. You could always find him on the river with a fishing pole in his hand, or at his Grand Daughter's hockey game, or with a pocket full of agates after he trespassed on someone's property to go rock hunting. He taught himself how to play guitar and played in many bands over the years.

He is survived by his children Angie (Johnny) Arndt, Randy (Amanda) Arndt, Amber (Bryce) Arndt, Emily Arndt, Jonny (Patricia) Arndt. Siblings Barb (Tom) Mikyla, David (Kim) Arndt, Kathy (Jeff) Miles; and sister-in-law, Lori Arndt. . Mother of his children, Wyone Arndt. His Grand Children Cora, Kaley and Jack Arndt; Lexi Carl (and her father, Jason Carl); Colbie Berndt; Andrea Arndt; and Great Grandson Weston Arndt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Joan. Brother Mike Arndt and baby brother Christopher.

A Celebration of Life will occur on Friday, June 11th, 2021 at 6pm near Jaycee Park in Hastings, MN by the river (420 Lock & Dam Road, Hastings, MN 55033). Open to all. Please bring your fondest memories of Jimmy in memoriam.
